Layton Christian Academy defeats North Summit 107-72 to capture the Region 16 title February 8, 2019 in Coalville, Utah.

COALVILLE — Layton Christian secured its eighth straight region title with a 107-72 win over North Summit.

All were reminded that basketball is just a game as this game started in a most unusual but touching way: an uncontested tip followed by an uncontested layup by North Summit’s senior captain Hayden Blonquist. It was a chance to for both teams, coaches, officials and fans to honor Blonquist as he continues his battle with leukemia. After the Braves allowed the Eagles to even the score at 2-2, it was all LCA.
