LOGAN — Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed in a car outside Logan on Friday night.

Logan police found the man about 7:45 p.m. slumped over the steering wheel in a car that had run off the road and into a ditch near 2100 West and 200 North, just outside Logan city limits, according to Logan police.

A caller told police dispatchers someone was unconscious inside a car, but the doors were locked and they were unable to help the person.

The responding officer broke the car window to get to the man and suffered a deep cut to his hand as a result, police said. The injury is not life threatening.

The man in the car was taken to an area hospital where it was discovered he had been stabbed, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry. He died from the injury.

Additional details about the man, including his name and age, were not immediately available.

The State Bureau of Investigation was responding to review the incident Friday night.
