Northern Utah teen Taylor Booth, a member of the U.S. U-17 Men's National Soccer Team that will play in the U-17 World Cup which starts this weekend in India.

Former Real Salt Lake Academy player Taylor Booth has signed with German soccer power Bayern Munich to a 3½-year contract, the team announced Thursday.

"We see a lot of potential in Taylor. He is a talented young player, and we look forward to working with him to develop his talent further," said Bayern Munich campus manager Jochen Sauer.

The 17-year-old from Eden, Utah, will join Bayern's U19 team. The attacking midfielder played in the U17 World Cup and is currently on the United States U19 team.

“It's always a thrill to have your hometown on the map," Booth told the Deseret News in 2017. "I take great pride in representing Utah. I have spent many, many hours kicking a soccer ball on soccer fields throughout the state of Utah, and I am proud that I get to call Utah home.”
