Nathan Chen wasn’t afraid to display his roots this weekend at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

The 19-year-old Salt Lake City native wore a Utah Jazz jersey during the festivities Saturday, warranting him a shout-out from the team.

Chen shared an Instagram video showing him wearing the jersey following his short program.

Chen, a freshman at Yale University, had no problem winning his third straight national title Sunday. The reigning world champion finished with a score of 342.22, including a score of 228.8 on his free skate.

Watch the unlikely comeback.
