The dysfunction our country endures because we have apparently elected children to lead us.

We heard the awful news about the bank shooting in Florida — five people shot by yet another unremarkable boy from a “quiet” family. It is such a poor commentary on our country that, when someone comments on the latest multiple murder incident, I have to ask, “Which one?”

It has been written that a day would come when mankind’s love would in many cases disappear. That day appears to have come.

For those waiting for the government to solve this problem, it’s not going to happen. It can’t even pay its employees. I’m reminded of the quote from Golda Meir, who said the solution to the violence and carnage will only come when we learn to love our children more than we hate our enemies. Teach love in the home — perhaps that’s a place to start.
