SALT LAKE CITY — Michigan’s college basketball team defeated Minnesota Tuesday night on a wild buzzer-beater, and a replay of the shot went viral across the internet.
Just as the game was headed for overtime, Charles Matthews snagged the ball and threw up a game-winning shot — as time expired.

He called game, too.
- “I knew it was good," Matthews said after the game, according to the Detroit Free Press. "I always have some fear in my head ’cause Purdue last year. … You never know, but I remember the game clock was 24.7 and the shot clock was 24 seconds at the time. When I saw it was one second, I knew for a fact that I had the time. You just do simple math.”
