Utah State's Ron’quavion Tarver had a game-high five receptions for 66 yards to help the West squad to a 21-17 win in the 94th East-West Shrine Game held Saturday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Tarver had two receptions for 32 yards on the opening drive of the game on back-to-back 16-yard receptions to help the West squad to the early 7-0 lead. Tarver then added a 15-yard reception in the second quarter, an 8-yard reception in the third quarter and an 11-yard catch in the fourth quarter on a third down play to keep the drive alive.

Tarver, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver from Belle Glade, Florida (Glades Central HS/Fort Scott CC), was the first Aggie in three years and 32nd Utah State player overall dating back to 1937 to play in the East-West Shrine Game.

As a senior, Tarver earned honorable mention all-Mountain West honors. He finished the season fifth in the MW and 49th in the nation in receiving touchdowns with eight (0.6 pg) and seventh in the MW and 63rd in the nation in receptions with 66 (5.1 pg).

During the 2018 season, Tarver caught a team-leading 66 passes for a team-best 709 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns, to go along with two 100-yard receiving games as he had a career-high-tying nine receptions for 128 yards against Air Force and 112 yards on seven receptions against New Mexico. He also tied his career high with a pair of touchdown receptions in back-to-back games against BYU and UNLV.

Tarver concluded his three-year Utah State career ranking fourth all-time in school history with 160 receptions and seventh all-time with 18 touchdown receptions, as he is one of just 20 players in school history with 100 career receptions and one of 34 players with 1,000 career receiving yards. Furthermore, his 66 receptions this past fall rank tied for 10th all-time in school history for a single season. In all, Tarver caught at least one pass in 37 straight games to conclude his career and had four-career 100-yard receiving games.
