Utah State women's tennis (0-1) lost, 7-0, to Utah (1-1) on Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City.

Utah earned the doubles point after senior Brianna Chisholm and freshman Madison Tattini defeated junior Rhoda Tanui and sophomore Alexandra Taylor, 6-2, at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 2 spot, junior Whitney Hekking and redshirt sophomore Leah Heimuli won, 6-3, against freshman Annaliese County and junior Lucy Octave. Freshmen Gabrielle Dekkers and Sidnee Lavatai had their match left unfinished at the No. 3 spot against freshman Lindsay Hung and senior Taylor Calton due to the action on the other two courts.

In singles, Tanui lost, 2-6, 1-6, against Chisholm at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 2 spot, Taylor lost, 0-6, 2-6, to Tattini. Dekkers lost, 1-6, 2-6, to Dush at the No. 3 spot. County won the first set against Hung, 6-2, but fell in the final two sets, 2-6, 9-11. Lavatai lost at the No. 5 spot to Calton, 6-7, 3-5, while Hekking defeated Octave at the No. 6 spot by default.

The Aggies are right back in action on Sunday when they will host Southern Utah at 11 a.m., at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
