Jazzman Joe Ingles was the latest guest on ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski's podcast, 'The Woj Pod.'
In the 47-minute long episode, the Jazz star touches on a variety of topics, including Ingles' affinity for black Chuck Taylors, his trash talk, when he thought the NBA began to respect him, his 'perfect' situation with the Utah Jazz, the Jazz's roster, playing in the 2008 Olympics against Team USA, the Jazz finding an identity after Gordon Hayward's departure, Donovan Mitchell's rookie season, the Jazz's early season struggles and Ingles' interest in joining an NBA front office after he retires.
One sound bite from the podcast made its way around social media as an example of Ingles' world-renowned trash talk. Talking about the criticism Ingles sometimes faces on social media, Ingles said, "Let's be real... I've got a receding hairline, I'm slow and I'm probably not the most jacked up with abs and all that, but I'm still going to beat you one-on-one. Settle down."
Gobert gets on Malone's level
Rudy Gobert has been a major part of why the Jazz have been able to turn around their season as of late, providing a huge defensive presence as Utah gets back to shutting teams down defensively. In the Jazz's last five games, Gobert is averaging 16 points, 19 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.2 blocks and one steal per game. In Utah's win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, Gobert scored 23 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, blocked four shots and added an assist and a steal.Comment on this story
According to StatMuse, Gobert is the first Jazz player to put up at least 20 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks in a game since Karl Malone did it in December 1990 against the Indiana Pacers.
Gobert was also the first Jazzman to have back-to-back 20 rebound nights since Malone.
