Utah State’s indoor track and field teams won 11 events and collected 53 top-five finishes at the Boise State-hosted Bronco Invitational held Saturday at the Jackson’s Indoor Track at Ford Center.

On the women’s side, senior Brenn Flint won the shot put with a heave of 15.91m, while senior Jennifer Christensen won the high jump with a personal-best height of 1.71m. Senior Presli Hutchison won the 3,000m with a time of 10:14.87, sophomore Katie Struthers won the mile with a personal-best time of 5:11.87 and sophomore Karen Christensen won the 600m with a time of 1:37.29.

Junior Kyle Morris led the Aggie men as he won the weight throw with a toss of 16.22m and placed second in the shot put with a personal-best-tying throw of 16.25m. Sophomore Josh Barclay also performed well as he won the shot put with a distance of 16.57m, while junior Oran Wasserman finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 15.60m.

Other event winners on the men’s side included junior Kyle Brost in the triple jump with a leap of 14.61m, junior Dylan Barker in the 600m with a time of 1:22.78, sophomore Luke Bailey in the 3,000m with a time of 8:16.79, freshman Chandler Obray in the high jump with a leap of 2.05m and freshman Roman Ruiz in the pole vault with a height of 4.95m.

Junior Maia Garren also had a solid meet for the Aggie women with a pair of personal bests as she finished second in both the shot put and weight throw with distances of 15.74m and 16.79m, respectively.

Other Aggie women who finished in the top three included sophomore Tajanell Strawder who placed second in the 200m (25.57), while freshman Hannah Davidson and senior Emily Hubner placed second and third in the mile with times of 5:18.73 and 5:19.13, respectively. Freshman Mica Rivera placed second in the 3,000m (10:23.67). Sophomore Talie Bonds placed third in the 60m hurdles (8.72) and third in the high jump (1.61m). Sophomore Josiah Williams placed second in the high jump (1.66m). Freshman Maren Garnett placed second in the pole vault (3.65m), and sophomore Bailey Maseda placed third in the triple jump (11.37m).

Other Aggie men who placed in the top three included senior Carl Jones who finished second in the 60m (6.83) and third in the 200m (21.96) and freshman Spencer Eldridge who placed second in the 400m (49.43). Junior J.D. Throne and freshman Devin Pancake placed second and third, respectively, in the mile with times of 4:15.50 and 4:15.82. Freshman Roberto Porras and sophomore Coen Haroldsen placed second and third, respectively, in the 3,000m with times of 8:38.83 and 8:39.04. Senior Sam Nelson placed second in the pole vault with a height of 4.95m.

Utah State’s 4x400m relay teams also performed well. On the men’s side, junior Chad Artist, freshman Mikhail Kidd, junior Tyler Lloyd and Eldridge placed first with a time of 3:20.74. On the women’s side, USU had three teams run and was led by junior Kasia Lawrynowicz, freshman Alexis Koetitz, sophomore Karen Christensen and redshirt junior Jensen Mosman, who placed second with a time of 3:58.75.

Utah State is back in action on Friday, Jan. 18, when it competes at the Montana State Dual Meet Challenge in Bozeman, Montana.
