Increasing demand for the “Star Wars: Episode IX” title sparked Hamill to release his own idea in a Twitter post on Thursday.

SALT LAKE CITY — Mark Hamill has a new idea for the “Star Wars: Episode IX” title, but he’ll probably need the rights to use it.

Increasing demand for the “Star Wars: Episode IX” title prompted Hamill to release his own idea in a Twitter post Thursday.

He suggested “Star Wars: Episode IX: Thank U, Next.”

The title is a reference to Ariana Grande’s song of the same name.

Friendship: Hamill and Grande have struck up a Twitter friendship in recent months, according to ComicBook.com. Hamill congratulated Grande on the music video for the song back in November.

Grande responded to Hamill’s praise with her own praise.

A history: Hamill has a history of trolling his fans on Twitter. He once tweeted mysterious phrases for weeks, raising speculation he would reveal the title of "Episode IX." It turned out to be a message for his birthday, as I reported.

Update: We’re unsure when the title for the new film will drop.
