The crash happened near the junction to I-70. Just before 7:30 a.m., a Ford F-150 and a Toyota Camry hit head-on, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The driver of the Camry, Jim R. Nelson, 37, of Price, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, William James T. Palmer, 33, of Moab, later died at a local hospital, troopers said.

"Fog was moderate at the time of the crash and likely contributed to the crash. Investigators are using a drone to diagram the scene. This will help us better reconstruct what actually happened to cause this awful crash," according to a statement from UHP.

Both directions of U.S. 6 were closed Friday morning as the crash was investigated.
