SANDY — Residents are invited learn how government really works during an eight-week Citizen Academy course.

The free course, which will feature activities with the city's elected officials and police, fire and public works departments, will be held on Wednesdays beginning March 20. Each class will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last for two hours. Dinner will be served each night.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, and class size will be limited to 20 participants. Applications, which are due Friday, Feb. 1, can be found at sandy.utah.gov, and admission is first come, first served.
