Fans of the view looking south over Salt Lake City take photos from above the Utah Capitol on Sunday. The sights aren't always so clear this time of year, when a temperature inversion typically traps pollution in the Salt Lake Valley. This time, the sooty air is taking a holiday break. The weekend's good air quality will remain across the state through Christmas Day, with low levels of particulate pollution, according to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.
