LAYTON — A 34-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening in an auto-pedestrian accident in Layton, police said.

The man was crossing the road in a poorly lit area at 1650 N. Hill Field Road and was not using a crosswalk when he was hit by a driver, according to police.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver was cooperating with investigators.

The incident marks the third auto-pedestrian fatality in Utah since Sunday.

Early Sunday morning, Tequila Garcia, 36, was found injured in the street after a hit-and-run at 2855 W. 3785 South. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Monday evening, Michael Dominic Madsen, 12, was killed at the intersection of State Street and Pleasant Grove Boulevard when a large truck making a right turn hit him while he was in a crosswalk.
