Former BYU running back Jamaal Williams had his best game of the 2018 NFL season on Sunday for Green Bay in the Packers' 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears.

After filling in for starter Aaron Jones, who went out with a knee injury in the first quarter, Williams rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries and added 42 receiving yards on four receptions.

He also ran for a 10-yard touchdown with just over four minutes left in the third quarter that, combined with a two-point conversion, helped tie the game at 14-14.

“Just be ready,” Williams told the team website postgame. “Next man up, always stay prepared, stay mentally prepared like you are going to be the starter. Just go in and do your job.”

Williams has rushed for 365 yards and two touchdowns on 98 carries this season and will be the starter for the final two games, as the Packers placed Jones on injured reserver Tuesday. To bolster its running back group, Green Bay also claimed former Snow College running back Kapri Bibbs off waivers from Washington.

Williams is also nearing 1,000 rushing yards for his NFL career. The second-year pro has carried the ball 251 times for 921 yards and six touchdowns.
