OREM — Investigation of a fatal crash on I-15 in Utah County shut down part of the freeway Thursday.8 comments on this story
A trooper had been notified of a vehicle on southbound I-15 that wasn't staying in its lane and was preparing to stop the vehicle when the crash occurred near 1200 North, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The driver, 60-year-old John Homer, of Salt Lake City, was ejected from the vehicle, according to UHP. It is unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt.
No one else was in the car at the time of the crash and no other vehicles were hit, UHP reported.
Southbound lanes were closed at the 1600 North exit for several hours while police investigated.
