The project, which aims to improve congestion and safety concerns, will include improving the intersections from 11400 South to 10600 South; installing sidewalks, curbs and gutters; resurfacing the section of road; and striping the road to six lanes.
The construction schedule includes daytime work, nighttime work with lane restrictions and weekend work as needed. Utility work, including light, gas, power and storm drains, will begin on the east side of State Street and transition to the west side by mid-July. The project is expected to be finished in August.
The city will also begin work on a separate utility project at the intersection of State Street and 10600 South beginning mid-March and lasting approximately four to five weeks.
