SPANISH FORK — City residents are invited to an open house on Thursday, March 8, to provide input on their vision for the area known as the River Bottoms.

The meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ponderosa Building at the Fairgrounds, 435 S. Main. Refreshments will be provided, and children are welcome.

This year city officials hope to create a guide for preservation and responsible growth in the area.

The city is aiming to develop a draft plan by the fall and complete a final plan that can be put before the City Council for adoption by the end of the year.

For the past several decades, the city’s general plan has designated the majority of the area as agricultural. While the city hasn’t contemplated any significant development, the city in recent years has received several proposal to develop the River Bottoms.
