NORTH SALT LAKE — Residents are invited to voice their opinions on three options to install a sidewalk on the east side of Orchard Drive during an open house on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 10 E. Center.

The city has obtained grant funding for the project, between Center Street and Eagleridge Drive, which is a priority walking route to Orchard Elementary School.

According to city officials, the first option — the least expensive — would keep curb and gutter in the existing location and add a 5-foot sidewalk adjacent to the curb. A striped bike lane would be added to each side of the road.

The second option would narrow the road by 5 feet and add a 5-foot sidewalk adjacent to the curb. The plan would also add striped bike lanes on each side of the road.

The third option — the most expensive, according to officials — would narrow the road by 5 feet, add a 5-foot park strip adjacent to the curb with a 5-foot sidewalk behind the park strip. The option also calls for the addition of striped bike lanes on each side of the road.
