Siebeneck added that although the victim was discovered at a business, police have found evidence along the TRAX S-Line.

However, the incident did not occur on the train, Siebeneck said.

The S-Line was shut down at the 900 East and Fairmont stations while police investigated until around 6 p.m., officials said.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is working with UTA police, who are providing video evidence.

The suspect is believed to be in his early 30s with dark hair, wearing dark overalls and a black jacket, police said.

The victim's condition was upgraded from critical condition around 5:30 p.m., police said.
