PROVO — Following a career that’s spanned more than four decades, Jeff Sermon announced his retirement as president and CEO of Utah Community Credit Union effective March 31. He will be succeeded by Executive Vice President Bret VanAusdal.

Sermon began his career with the credit union in 1976, when he was the sixth employee hired. Over the years he worked as a loan officer, branch manager, vice president and executive vice president. He was named president at CEO in 2003.

Under his leadership, the credit union, founded in 1956, has grown to over $1 billion in assets with more than 170,000 members.

VanAusdal brings 34 years of banking experience and 22 years at the credit union to his new position.

The public is invited to a retirement reception on March 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverside Country Club, 2701 N. University Ave.
