USU Extension will host "Date Your Mate" on Feb. 9 in West Jordan and the Northern Utah Marriage Celebration on Feb. 16 in Ogden.

SALT LAKE CITY — Valentine's Day is traditionally a time of dinner, dancing and romancing, and the Beehive State is living up to that tradition with several events from Logan to St. George set to celebrate the day of love. But while teddy bears and chocolates are considered a standard way to celebrate in the U.S., some countries have different ideas — like black noodles.

South Korea turns the tables a bit for the 14th day of the month. According to asiasociety.org, on Valentine's Day women give chocolates to men as a sign of affection. The following month, on White Day, men reciprocate with an equal to or greater gift. But in April the celebration turns to Black Day, when singles gather together and eat black bean-paste noodles.

Whether you fit in the chocolate or the noodle group, gather together with your friends and celebrate the season of Cupid with these events in Utah.
