AMERICAN FORK — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a shooting in American Fork on Tuesday that injured a passenger in a car traveling I-15.

The bullet went through the car's right-rear door panel, striking an 18-year-old in the leg around noon, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred on southbound I-15 between Lehi's Main Street and American Fork's Main Street.

Investigators believe someone fired the shot from another vehicle at close range slightly behind the car the victim was in, and not from the side of the road.

Anyone with information is asked to call Utah Highway Patrol's dispatch, 801-965-4518.
