Eighty-six students from nine high schools in the Granite School District took part in the competition. Brooke Porter, director of communications for the Granite Education Foundation, said the purpose of the Art Olympics is to give students a chance to celebrate their talents and art. “I think the biggest thing is, it’s celebrating education and art in a fun way and a really rewarding way for students,” said. Various awards will be given to selected artists and two will earn $500 scholarships.
