I have a friend and neighbor who speaks often of his great love and concern for older people. He doesn't just speak about this love; he shows it. My husband has been in an assisted living center for over two years. This dear man comes to visit often when so many others just don't take the time. He brightens my husband's days when they can visit. He offers to help others while he's there. He gives lessons in the best of humanity by being among us. Oh, and he has Down syndrome. Those of us who don't could take notes.
