The Utah Highway Patrol said this stolen Dodge was involved in a high-speed chase Sunday morning that spanned 60 miles from Utah County into Juab County before the driver crashed. The driver was caught after trying to flee on foot.

SCIPIO, Juab County — The Utah Highway Patrol said the driver of a stolen Dodge spotted in Provo Sunday morning led troopers on a chase in which the fleeing vehicle topped speeds of 100 mph before crashing 60 miles away in Scipio.

Troopers said the driver then attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended. The driver complained of unspecified medical issues and was taken to a local hospital, but troopers said he would be booked into jail once he was medically cleared.

During the pursuit, troopers were able to spike the tires of the fleeing vehicle, which then left the interstate at the Scipio exit, sliding off the roadway and down an embankment.

The incident began at 10:25 Sunday morning and ended with the man in custody 36 minutes later.
