Frequent flyers on Qantas airlines liked watching the “The Boss Baby” this past year.
The cartoon film about a suit-wearing toddler topped Qantas’ list of most-watched airline movies in 2017, according to a company blog post.
Qantas used an onboard rating system to discover which movies customers watched most and for how long.
“The Boss Baby” topped the top 10 list of the films, followed by “Logan,” “Hidden Figures,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
“Lion,” “La La Land,” “Baywatch,” “Kong: Skull Island” and “Baby Driver” rounded out the top 10.
The company’s blog post said that flyers tend to enjoy films that recently premiered. All of the top films listed above were newly-released in 2016.
The data also found that comedy is often the most-watched genre of films.
The airline also airs television shows, with “Game of Thrones” leading the way in that category. “Peppa Pig” was the most-watched kids' TV show.
Meanwhile, BBC’s “Planet Earth II” topped the documentary list, followed closely by “Why Are We Fat?”Comment on this story
Qantas introduced Netflix and Spotify to its Wi-Fi-enabled flights earlier this year, according to Mashable. Interested customers will have to bring their own devices though, which reduces the need for the airline to install entertainment systems on the back of their seats.
Qantas promised back in February that its Wi-FI would be “10 times faster” than normal airline Wi-Fi.
But Qantas said in its blog post most frequent flyers use their Wi-Fi for browsing the internet and answering emails, not necessarily for watching TV. The company said Facebook was the most popular social media app on their flights.
