SALT LAKE CITY — The Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District is reminding customers there will be no garbage collection on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Since the holidays are on a Monday this year, all collections will be delayed by one day, with Friday’s collections occurring on Saturday.

In addition, the district will be collecting Christmas trees during January. Trees should be placed on the curb and will be collected the day after customers’ regular collection day. If your tree is missed one week, it will be picked up the following week. Please remove decorations, lights, tree stands or flocking.

Trees should not be placed in a garbage, recycling or green waste can. If the tree is over 8 feet tall, please cut it into smaller sections.

The district serves the cities of Cottonwood Heights, Herriman, Holladay, Millcreek, Taylorsville; portions of Murray and Sandy; the townships of Copperton, Emigration, Kearns, Magna and White City; and the unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County.
