Rabbi Benny Zippel, executive director of Chabad Lubavitch of Utah, lights the menorah at Abravanel Hall Plaza in Salt Lake City on Tuesday to mark the start of Hanukkah. The event was part of the "World’s Largest Hanukkah Observance" as 15,000 public menorahs were lit worldwide to symbolize the universal message of religious freedom. The menorah at Abravanel Hall Plaza will be kindled nightly at 6 p.m. on all Hanukkah weeknights, 4 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
