SALT LAKE CITY — Two Utah women will appear in the next season of “The Bachelor.”
Both Marikh Mathias and Maquel Cooper will star in the show’s 22nd season as two of the 29 contests who will compete for race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart.
So who are the two Utah women on the show? Here’s a little bit more about them from their cast biographies.
Maquel Cooper is a 23-year-old photographer from American Fork. According to her cast bio, she doesn’t have any tattoos, but is a self-professed “adrenaline junkie,” who finds Paris to be the most romantic city in the world.
Cooper loves dressing up for Halloween and said she likes “creepy/scary stuff” in her biography. She said her ideal partner would look like Ryan Gosling.
Cooper said she hates dates who are “super touchy right away” and a man who “doesn’t feed me.”
So how does she impress men?
“Be myself. Only way someone can like the real you,” Cooper said in her bio.
Marikh Mathias is a 27-year-old restaurant owner from Salt Lake City. Like her Utah counterpart Cooper, she doesn’t have any tattoos.2 comments on this story
“I enjoy being mysterious,” she said in her biography. “People always make incorrect assumptions about me and I’d rather they not have me confirm those.”
Mathias said her favorite movies include “Beetlejuice,” “Dark Shadows” and “Practical Magic.”
She said she’s a good cook since she cooks all the time and her mom is a chef.
And, above all else, she’s a romantic.
“Because no matter how much I’ve been hurt,” she said, “I always give love another chance.”
The new season kicks off on Jan. 1 on ABC at 7 p.m.
