CLEARFIELD — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his 7-week-old son.

Clint Corydon Nokes, of Clearfield, was arrested Monday for investigation of child abuse homicide.

The case began Friday, when officers responded to a report of an infant who was unconscious and not breathing, according to a statement from the Clearfield Police Department.

"The initial investigation indicated the infant had signs of and symptoms of physical abuse," according to police.

The boy was taken to Primary Children's Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries less than 10 hours after emergency crews were first notified, police stated.

Nokes is being held without bail in the medical unit of the Davis County Jail.

"It is believed that the father caused the non-accidental and fatal injuries," police stated.

There were no other children in the home.
