Police were questioning a man who allegedly pointed a gun at a woman in the parking lot of the Jewish Community Center on Sunday.

SALT LAKE CITY — Police located and questioned a man Sunday who allegedly pointed a gun at a woman in the parking lot of the Jewish Community Center.

A man driving a white Mercedes pulled into the center's parking lot and brandished what was believed to be a gun as a woman was getting out of her car, according to University of Utah police. The center, 2 Medical Drive, is near the University of Utah campus.

U. officials sent a text message campus alert about the incident at 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

The man was seen near the intersection of 3300 South and I-15. Officers located him in Murray about 3 p.m., according to U. police.
