DELTA — Sheriff’s deputies were seeking help to identify two men involved in a home invasion robbery.
Millard County Sheriff’s Capt. Richard Jacobson said the men bound an elderly woman inside her house on White Sage Avenue Thursday.
“They had sought some valuables in the house, and were successful in retrieving those valuables,” Jacobson said. “We’re very concerned about (the woman’s) emotional state. She was very jarred by this.”
Investigators believe the home was intentionally targeted, but they also said that the woman did not know the robbers.
Deputies acknowledged the suspect descriptions are relatively vague — middle-aged men, one taller and one shorter and more heavyset.
“We think one possibly had a white shirt with blue stripes and the shorter fellow was wearing a greenish coat,” Jacobson said.
Many residents of the small central Utah town were already aware of the crime Friday.
Stephen Hintze, who lives on a neighboring street, said what happened was "scary."Comment on this story
“In a neighborhood where you trust everybody and everybody leaves their cars unlocked and their doors unlocked, it makes you kind of think twice about that type of stuff,” he said.
Investigators are hoping the public can help connect the men, who had apparently been spotted in the area of Neighborhood Park at least an hour before the home invasion, to a vehicle.
Jacobson said the men are considered armed and dangerous.
