Marcus Reid, of Hub City Woodcraft in Mt. Pleasant, uses a lathe to carve wooden Christmas trees at the Christkindlmarkt at This Is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City on Thursday. Inspired by world-famous German Christmas markets, Christkindlmarkt SLC offers a holiday shopping and cultural experience from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Saturday. The market feature 80 vendors selling everything from handcrafted items, toys, ornaments and jewelry. In addition, there will be entertainment, daily parades and activities for children, including the St. Nicholas Haus, a live Nativity and a Gnome Fest. Entrance to the event is free.
