PRICE — A Carbon County man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl.
Kenneth Ray Fox, 30, of Sunnyside, pleaded guilty Monday to forcible sexual abuse and enticing a minor, both second-degree felonies. He was immediately ordered to serve two sentences of one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison. The sentences were ordered to run concurrently.
Fox began communicating with his victim through text messaging, and continued through Snapchat and Facebook, according to a search warrant affidavit filed in 7th District Court.Comment on this story
"Numerous sexually explicit images and videos were transmitted between both users through various apps," the affidavit states.
Police say the two also created fake Facebook accounts to communicate with other.
Fox was originally charged with five felonies, including rape of a child, according to court records. Carbon County deputy county attorney Sean Brian said the plea deal was a good result both for justice, and for avoiding a trial.
"It was good to have it resolved for the victim's sake to not go through a trial," he said.
