A woman walks down the steps of the state Capitol as rain clouds loom over the Salt Lake Valley on Monday. Following an unusually warm holiday weekend, Monday's rain brought cooler temperatures, but not enough for it to snow in the state's higher elevations. According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high near 47. Wednesday will bring a 20 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m., with highs for the day topping out at 45. Thursday and Friday will bring sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s to low 50s.
