Gov. Gary Herbert has appointed Anna Lehnardt as public information officer following Kirsten Rappleye’s transition to the Utah Lt. Governor’s Office.

SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert has appointed Anna Lehnardt as public information officer following Kirsten Rappleye’s transition to the Utah Lt. Governor’s Office.

Lehnardt previously served as communication specialist for Herbert, executing digital and multimedia communication strategy on behalf of the administration. She is receiving her master’s degree in comparative literature and holds bachelor’s degrees in English, French and German from the University of Utah.

During her time at the University of Utah, Lehnardt served as editor-in-chief of the Daily Utah Chronicle.

Trey Hansen, who has served as director of correspondence, will now also oversee digital content. Hansen received his bachelor’s degree in history from Westminster College.

Lehnardt and Hansen formally assume their positions immediately.
