SALT LAKE CITY — Master Muffler is getting in the Christmas spirit, but it needs the public’s help in its effort to play Santa.

The Utah-based car repair company plans to donate at least a dozen newly restored vehicles to needy families or individuals in the communities it serves, but it needs nominations.

Those who know of a family or individual in need are asked to put their name forward at the Master Muffler website, mastermuffler.net. Nominations will be taken until Dec. 17.

According to Master Muffler co-owner, Brian Everill, it’s all about gratitude. This year, the company wants to show its appreciation to the people of Utah, whom they have served for more 50 years.

“We’ve had amazing success over the past several years, thanks to the community,” Everill said in a statement. “This is our way of saying thank you.”

Mechanics at each Master Muffler location have donated their time and effort to restore a car for the giveaway. On top of a free vehicle, selected families will also receive free maintenance during 2018.
