SALT LAKE CITY — The public is invited to celebrate the opening of the Jordan River Trail Bridge and the completion of the 45-mile Jordan River Trail with a 5K run and dedication Saturday at the Fisher Mansion, 1205 W. 200 South.

The 5K will start at 9 a.m. at 17th South River Park, 1150 W. 1700 South, and will finish near the mansion. The winner of the race will cut the ribbon to officially open the $6 million bridge, which spans three freight rail tracks and curves past two large electrical transmission poles.

After the race, runners and spectators can enjoy hot beverages, food and music.

The race is limited to 100 runners. To register, go to events.r20.constantcontact.com. Transportation will not be provided back to 17th South River Park.
