WEST JORDAN — A registered sex offender currently on parole after serving prison time for a child sex abuse conviction now faces new charges of viewing child pornography at work.

Kirk David Lundgreen, 44, of Salt Lake City, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

The investigation began in July when a local business contacted the Bonneville Community Correctional Center about their janitor, Lundgreen, a parolee. One morning after Lundgreen's shift, "images of young children" were found on a company printer, according to charging documents.

Upon further investigation, the employer found that child pornography had been accessed on the company's computers, the charges state.

Agents from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force interviewed Lundgreen. He said he twice used the computer in the manager's office and "spent approximately three hours each time searching for animated pornography depicting underage children," according to charging documents.

Lundgreen said he also viewed pornographic pictures of children while allegedly searching for animation, the charges state. Investigators noted that some of the images Lundgreen viewed contained "prepubescent children being sadistically tortured."

In 2005, Lundgreen was sentenced to one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison for a conviction of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.
