WEST VALLEY CITY — A man died in an auto-pedestrian accident Saturday evening, West Valley police reported.Comment on this story
Officers responded to the accident near an intersection at 3100 South and 3600 West around 7:50 p.m. A pedestrian crossing the road at a crosswalk was struck by a vehicle driving east on 3100 South, said West Valley Police Lt. Amy Maurer.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Maurer said. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The cause of the accident was still under investigation as police continued interviewing witnesses at a gas station near the scene.
Officers temporarily closed 3100 South in both directions from 3450 West to 3600 West.
Police did not release the name of the victim pending notification of family members.
