PARK CITY — A woman was found deceased in a Park City hotel room Thursday, and police are calling it a possible homicide.

Just before 1:30 a.m., police were called to the Park Regency Resort, 1710 Prospector Ave., on a report of "a suspicious circumstance," said Park City Police Capt. Phil Kirk. When they arrived, police found the woman's body in a room.

The woman's identity had not been released as of Thursday morning.

Officers put up police tape across a wide area around the hotel as they searched the possible crime scene for evidence. Unified police and the state attorney general's office arrived later in the morning to assist with forensic evidence.

Police had not released any other details as of 11:30 a.m., including whether the woman was a guest at the hotel, if she was with anyone else, how long she had been there, or what kind of disturbance prompted police to respond.
