Lynn A. Ballard, who died in 2008, was the caretaker of the park and its baseball diamond for 25 years. According to the plaque on the marker, Lynn Ballard served on the Draper Park Association, and played baseball, softball and umpired many games at the park. The monument also recognizes the early Draper baseball leagues.
