U.S. Army All-American Marching Band
Jadyn Christensen, a senior at Roy High School, has been named to the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.

ROY — Jadyn Christensen, a senior at Roy High School, has been named to the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.

Christensen, who plays the trumpet, was recognized Monday morning with an honorary All-American Marching Band jacket.

“Being a successful band member not only requires great skill, but also a commitment to teamwork,” Mark S. Davis, deputy assistant secretary of the Army for marketing, said in a statement. “To be an Army All-American requires students to excel musically and academically, but most importantly, as young people of character."

The band, which recognizes 125 high school senior marching musicians and color guard members from across the country, will perform during halftime at the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. NBC will be televise the game live from San Antonio’s Alamodome on Jan. 6.
