SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee is seeking public comment on Linda Jones, Patrick Corum and Amber Mettler, who were appointed by Gov. Herbert last week to fill vacancies on the 3rd District Court.
Jones is currently a partner at the firm of Zimmerman Jones Booher LLC representing clients in appellate matters and in district court. From 2009 to 2016, she served as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. She received a bachelor's in journalism from the U. and a Juris Doctor from the U.
Corum is presently a trial attorney and supervisor with the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Association, where he also previously served as assistant director. Prior to that role, he served as misdemeanor section chief for the organization. He was an adjunct professor at the S.J. Quinney College of law from 2008 to this year. Corum received a bachelor of science in zoology from Oregon State University and a Juris Doctor from the U.
Mettler has been an attorney at Snell & Wilmer LLP since 2007, and a partner since 2015. She was previously an associate attorney at Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C. She received a bachelor of arts in politics from Princeton University and Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

The committee plans to hold a public hearing, then issue a recommendation to the full Senate. If confirmed, Jones, Corum and Mettler will fill the vacancies created by the retirement of Judge Ann Boyden, effective Jan. 1, Judge Bruce Lubeck, effective Dec. 29, and Judge Robert Adkins, effective Jan. 7.
The 3rd Judicial District Court covers Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele counties.
