The Davis County Attorney's Office last month filed a motion for their case against Chandra Vayu Stevens Read, 33, to be dismissed “on the grounds that further investigation needs to be conducted," according to court documents.

Read, of West Point, was charged in 2nd District Court with surreptitious administration of a substance, a class A misdemeanor. She was accused of poisoning her husband, who became ill for several months and lost 40 pounds, court documents state.

Investigators who searched the Reads' house found 10 empty bottles and six unopened boxes of eyedrop solution, according to charging documents. Court records did not offer a possible motive.
