Picture this: Participants moving a bright yellow chinese dragon along the double yellow line painted on the street during the Days of ‘47 Parade route. Actors holding onto umbrellas to shield themselves from the hot sun while taking a break from filming a scene of the Book of Mormon. A mother pulling her son through the sea of water that flooded her neighborhood.

July was full of Independence and Pioneer Day celebrations, which included the annual Deseret News Marathon and rodeos in several cities.
