CLEARFIELD — Families of post-9/11 wounded warriors, active-duty military personnel and active and inactive Guard and Reserve members may register to receive free backpacks and back-to-school supplies for their children from Operation Homefront.

Registration is taking place online now at More than a thousand backpacks and accompanying school supplies will be distributed during a Back-to-School Brigade event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Hill Field Elementary School, 389 S. 1000 East, Clearfield.

Only families who register online by Wednesday may receive backpacks and school supplies.

Shoppers are also being encouraged to purchase and donate school supplies to the Back-to-School Brigade at any Dollar Tree store through Aug. 10. This is the ninth year that Dollar Tree has partnered with the organization to provide school supplies to military children

The Back-to-School Brigade takes place during Operation Homefront’s 1Mil1Fam campaign through July. Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit with a mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families.
