SALT LAKE CITY — Mayor Jackie Biskupski has tapped Danny Walz to be the chief operating officer of the city’s Redevelopment Agency, pending approval by the City Council.
In a press statement, Biskupski praised Walz’s “unparalleled” expertise in redevelopment along the Wasatch Front.
“His long work history of revitalizing neighborhoods through the addition of a variety of housing types, activation of public spaces and creation of business districts began in Salt Lake City, so it’s appropriate he would return here to lead the capital city’s RDA team and continue its good work,” Biskupski said.
Walz has served as director of the Midvale Redevelopment Agency for the past 13 years, and was previously a senior project manager and project coordinator for the Salt Lake agency. He also serves as president of the Utah Redevelopment Association.Comment on this story
